About Us.

Into Action is a structured sober living community for men and women.

We are a MAT/MAR-friendly, 12-step-based program supporting personal accountability in a family atmosphere.

Founded in 2017 in the midst of our state’s opioid crises, it is our goal to provide a safe, ethically run, structured, and supportive environment for our residents to thrive in their recovery.  Our homes maintain Level 3 certification with the New Hampshire Coalition of Recovery Residences and inclusion on the State of New Hampshire’s registry of approved recovery homes.  Since 2017, we have grown to 7 locations, 4 for men and 3 for women.

Over the years, we have built a strong alumni population that continues to support the residents long after they have transitioned from the home.  We know from experience that unity is the antithesis of active addiction.

We must rebuild connections not only to our loved ones but to our communities as well.  We aim to provide an environment where individuals become motivated to return to the workforce, patron our local businesses, and lessen the burden on our justice system.

One component that separates us from many others, is that while a resident, you will meet regularly with our licensed recovery case manager and develop a customized recovery plan that meets your unique needs, as well as addressing other immediate needs such as applying for benefits, coordinating medical and therapeutic appointments to treat the mind and body, vocational supports, and communicating with stakeholders in your recovery such as families, social workers, parole, and probation officers.

We keep our homes at a minimum of a 5:1 resident-to-peer leader ratio to ensure the homes operate safely and effectively, and to prevent peer leader burn out.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please get in touch with us. Recovery is possible.

Meet Our Team

Jonathan Gerson

Owner & Founder

For years, I struggled with alcoholism and addiction. In 2016, I relocated from Boston, hoping for one more chance to start anew. Having completed a detox program, I was encouraged to move to a structured sober living program in Manchester, NH. Initially, I responded with defiance, but there was just enough surrender in me that I agreed. In that sober home, I found unity and recovery as I had never experienced. Many of those men I shared the home with are still sober today, and our bonds remain strong. I never planned on operating sober homes, but through a series of events, I have had the opportunity to do just that. Starting with a single home, which I lived in and managed daily, we have grown to 7 locations, both for men and women. I also spent two years in the SUD treatment space as the Executive Director and Program Founder for two treatment facilities in NH. Through that experience, I have built several partnerships with community, state, and private agencies, which have expanded access to our sober living programs while providing additional support systems for our residents. In 2021, I was nominated to the New Hampshire Coalition of Recovery Residences Board of Directors, an organization that has been the driving force in growing the number of quality sober homes and setting the standard for best ethical and safety practices. It is an honor to serve on its Board. My mission is to provide the same atmosphere that I enjoyed in the sober home that gave me a new life – a family of brothers or sisters that build each other up, hold each other accountable, and grow long-lasting relationships maintained well after the completion of our program. I am incredibly blessed and grateful to do what I love and witness daily miracles.

Ashley Dupont

Recovery Case Manager

For many years I struggled with alcoholism and addiction. When I finally saw the light and built my own foundation in recovery, I knew I wanted to help others in their journey, so I began working in the treatment field. I worked in various roles, supporting clients both in direct care and case management. Transitioning to work in the sober living environment allows me to work with men and women long-term. Our residents often come to us 30 days clean after completing treatment, and without support, they struggle to adjust to living without substances. Everyday tasks can seem overwhelming. I help them to learn responsibility, self-sufficiency, build confidence, and to balance life and recovery. Each person is unique, and I am quick to recognize their specific needs. Into Action, and the sober living setting allows me to really get to know each person and build a supportive relationship. To continue growing and learning, I am also a student working towards my degree in Behavioral Science. I will forever remain teachable and in the service of others.
